Bhagavatapurana 7.13.28

7.13.28

jalaṃ tadudbhavaiśchannaṃ hitvājño jalakāmyayā /
mṛgatṛṣṇāmupādhāvet tathānyatrārthadṛk svataḥ //

28. He, who thinks of finding his purpose outside himself, is

comparable to that person who, longing for water, runs towards Mirage, leaving the water (near) concealed by its own out-growth.
