7.15.49

etadiṣṭaṃ pravṛttākhyaṃ hutaṃ prahutameva ca /
pūrtaṃ surālayārāma kūpājīvyādilakṣaṇam //

49. This sacrificial course called *Pravritta* consists of *Vaisva-*

*deva and Baliharana*; (if this is done with any hope of gratifying desires it does not bring peace to the mind); construction of tanks and lakes, temples, gardens, wells, water-sheds, planting trees and the like and is conveyed by the term (*Purtā*).
