na vayaṃ manyamānānāmātmānaṃ tatra sādhanam /
giro vaḥ sādhuśocyānāṃ gṛhṇīmo marmatāḍanāḥ //

9. We are not prepared to accept your words though intended to cut the vitals. For you believe yourself to be the agent (in respect of fame, success etc): you are therefore most fit to be pitied.
