evaṃ śaptaḥ svaguruṇā satyān na calito mahān /
vāmanāya dadāvenāmarcitvodakapūrvakam //

16. (Though) thus cursed by his preceptor he did not swerve from his true promise and duly worshipped Vamana, poured water in assurance of his gift and gave the piece of land to Him.
