athopoṣya kṛtasnānā hutvā ca haviṣānalam /
dattvā goviprabhūtebhyaḥ kṛtasvastyayanā dvijaiḥ //

14. Thereupon they bathed, kept fast, poured offerings into the fire, bestowed gifts on cows, Brahmins and other beings, and had auspicious rites performed (for them) by the Brahmins.
