9.10.49

jaṭā nirmucya vidhivat kulavṛddhaiḥ samaṃ guruḥ /
abhyaṣiñcadyathaivendraṃ catuḥsindhujalādibhiḥ //

49. Preceptor Vasishta, together with the elderly members of the family, caused the jatas (matted hair) to be untied and performed for him, like unto Indra, the abhisheka of coronation with the waters brought from the four seas and other holy sources.
