tac chrutvā bhagavān rāmo rundhannapi dhiyā śucaḥ /
smaraṃstasyā guṇāṃstāṃstān nāśaknodroddhumīśvaraḥ //

16. On hearing of that, the glorious Rama, the Supreme Ruler, though he tried to govern his grief by force of reason, was not able to control it as he remembered her various excellent qualities.
