gatvā māhiṣmatīṃ rāmo brahmaghnavihataśriyam /
teṣāṃ sa śīrṣabhī rājan madhye cakre mahāgirim //
17. Rama went to Mahishmati whose splendour had been lost through the sin of slaying brahmins and there made he a big mountain of their heads, O king, in the middle of the city.
