ye madhucchandaso jyeṣṭhāḥ kuśalaṃ menire na tat /
aśapat tān muniḥ kruddho mlecchā bhavata durjanāḥ //
33. Those fifty Madhuchchandasas, the elders, did not think it proper: so the sage Visvamitra became angry and cursed them, “O wicked men, do you become Mlechchas”.
