codyamānā surairevaṃ matvā vitathamātmajam /
vyasṛjan maruto 'bibhran datto 'yaṃ vitathe 'nvaye //
39. Though thus directed by the gods she thought him to be a useless son, and abandoned him. The gods called Maruts nourished him and he was given to Bharata whose line had become interrupted.
