rakṣaḥkṛtaṃ tadviditvā cakre dvādaśavārṣikam /
so 'pyapo 'ñjalimādāya guruṃ śaptuṃ samudyataḥ //
23. Having then understood that it was the work of a demon, the preceptor limited his curse to twelve years; the king too took water in his hand and prepared to pronounce a curse on the preceptor.
