Purity, passion, and darkness—this threefold one in the beginning, / which they call the thread, the great principle, the ego, and the individual soul; / by appearing as knowledge, action, objects, and results, through its vast powers, / it is Brahman alone that shines as both cause and effect, and that which is beyond both.
