sūta uvāca /
bhṛtyā bahuvidhā jñeyā uttamādhamamadhyamāḥ /
niyoktavyā yathārheṣu trividheṣveva karmasu //
The Garuḍa Mahāpurāṇa—112 / Sūta said: / Servants should be known to be of many kinds: superior, inferior, and middling; / they should be appointed to the threefold duties according to their fitness.
