prāptavyamarthaṃ labhate manuṣyo devo 'pi taṃ vārayituṃ na śaktaḥ /
ato na śocāmi na vismayo me lalāṭalekhā na punaḥ prayāti (yadasmadīyaṃ na tu tat pareṣām //
A human being obtains the thing destined to be obtained; even a god is not able to avert it. / Therefore I do not grieve, nor do I wonder: the writing on the forehead does not depart; what is ours is not others'.
