māghaphālgunayormadhye kṛṣṇā yā tu caturdaśī /
tasyāṃ jāgaraṇādrudraḥ pūjito bhuktimuktidaḥ //
The Lord said:
The fourteenth day of the dark fortnight between the months of Māgha and Phālguna—
on that day, Rudra, worshipped through an all-night vigil, bestows enjoyment and liberation.
