māndhātā cakravartyāsīdupoṣyaikādaśīṃ nṛpaḥ /

The glorious Garuḍa Mahāpurāṇa — 125 / Pitāmaha said: / King Māndhātā became a universal monarch by fasting on the eleventh lunar day. / One should not eat on the eleventh day in either of the two fortnights.
