anagnipakramaśrīyānmucyate brahmahatyayā /
(iti dūrvāṣṭamīvratam) /
kṛṣṇāṣṭamyāṃ ca rohiṇyāmardharātrer'canaṃ hareḥ //

One should eat food uncooked by fire; he is freed from the murder of a brāhmaṇa.
(Thus ends the Dūrvāṣṭamī religious observance.)
