ūrdhvaśothamadho bastau madhye kurvanti madhyagāḥ /
sarvāṅgagaḥ sarvagataḥ pratyapratyageti tadāśrayaḥ //
Those [doṣas] situated in the upper part cause swelling in the upper body; those situated below, in the bladder; those in the middle, in the middle;
that which pervades the whole body affects all parts, according to its respective seat.
