śanaiḥ śanaiścopaśayāndṛḍhānapi muhurmuhuḥ /
viśeṣājjīvitaṃ prāṇa udāno balamucyate /
syāttayoḥ pīḍanāddhanirāyuṣañca balasya ca //
and gradually by repeated, steady pacifications. / Prāṇa is especially spoken of as life, and udāna as strength; / by the affliction of those two, there would be loss of longevity and strength.
