sūta uvāca /
prāṇeśvaraṃ gāruḍaṃ ca śivoktaṃ pravadāmyaham /
sthānānyādau pravakṣyāmi nāgadaṣṭo na jīvati //

Sūta said: / I shall declare the Garuḍa lore, the Lord of Life, spoken by Śiva. / First I shall describe the places [bitten wherein] one bitten by a serpent does not survive.
