nyasya haṃsaṃ vāmakare nāsāmukhanirodhakṛt /
mantro hareddaṣṭakasya tvaṅmāṃsādigataṃ viṣam //

Placing the "haṃsa" in the left hand and closing the nostrils and mouth,
the mantra removes the poison from the skin, flesh, and other [tissues] of the bitten person.
