yathāhaṃ devadevānāṃ śrīḥ khyāto vinatāsuta /
tathā khyātiṃ purāṇeṣu gāruḍaṃ gāruḍaiṣyati //
Just as I, the fortune of the gods of gods, am renowned, O son of Vinatā,
so shall the Gāruḍa attain renown among the Purāṇas, O Garuḍa.
