raktena paṭahe likhya śabdātresurgrahādayaḥ /
oṃ mara mara mārayamāraya svāhā /
oṃ huṃ phaṭ svāhā //

"oṃ kṣva [kṣṇaṃ] namaḥ".
Having inscribed it with blood on a drum, at its sound, malignant spirits and the like tremble with fear:
"oṃ mara mara māraya māraya svāhā".
"oṃ huṃ phaṭ svāhā".
