śrīgaruḍamahāpurāṇam- 208
sūta uvāca /
āryālakṣma tvaṣṭa gaṇāḥ sadā jo viṣame na hi /
ṣaṣṭhe jo nlau vāpi bhavet padaṃ ṣaṣṭhe dvitīyalāt //

The glorious Garuḍa Mahāpurāṇa: 208
Sūta said:
The characteristic of the āryā is eight feet, and ja-gaṇa is never in an uneven [foot];
in the sixth, ja-gaṇa or na-la occurs; a word occurs after the second short syllable in the sixth.
