āryāgītiścāntagururgotijāteśca lakṣaṇam /
ṣaṭ kalā viṣame cetsyuḥ same 'ṣṭau na nirantarāḥ /
samā parāśritā na syādvaitālīye ralau guruḥ //

And āryāgīti has a heavy syllable at the end—such is the definition of the gīti class.
If there are six mātrās in the uneven and eight in the even, not uninterrupted,
an even foot does not depend on another; in the vaitālīya, ra and la are followed by a heavy syllable.
