caṇḍavṛttiprapāto 'sau daṇḍako nau tato 'garaḥ /
raphevṛddhāntakādasya vyālajīmūtakādayaḥ //
This Daṇḍaka metre, Caṇḍavṛttiprapāta, has na, na, and thereafter ra-gaṇas; / from the increase of ra-gaṇas in it, Vyāla, Jīmūta, and the rest arise.

iti śrīgāruḍe mahāpurāṇe pūrvakhaṇḍe prathamāṃśākhye ācārakāṇḍe samavṛttalakṣaṇādinirūpaṇaṃ nāma navottaradviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
