Saying, "Om, to our fathers and grandfathers of such-and-such gotras and names, together with their wives: this seat, svadhā," a seat is offered to the left of the brāhmaṇa. / "Om, I shall invoke the ancestors." / "Om!" / When it is replied, "Invoke [them]," [he recites:] "Om, yearning for you, we establish you; yearning, we kindle [you]; / yearning, do you yearningly bring the ancestors to eat the oblation! / Om, may our ancestors, gentle and consumed by fire, come by the paths trodden by the gods; / rejoicing at this sacrifice through svadhā, may they speak favourably of us and protect us"—thus is the invocation. / Saying, "Om, driven away are the asuras, the rakṣasas that dwell around the altar," sesame seeds are scattered. / Water is poured into the vessels set out in the manner previously described. / Saying, "Om, you are sesame, belonging to the deity Soma, an offering of cattle created by the gods; / united with the ancient waters through svadhā, please our ancestors and the worlds, svāhā," sesame is offered.
