sapiṇḍīkaraṇaśrāddhaṃ vyāsaproktaṃ mayā tava /
śrāddhaṃ viṣṇuḥ śrāddhakartā phalaṃ śrāddhādikaṃ hariḥ //
The sapiṇḍīkaraṇa śrāddha declared by Vyāsa has been told by me to you. / The śrāddha is Viṣṇu, the performer of the śrāddha is [Viṣṇu], the fruit of the śrāddha and the rest is Hari.

iti śrīgāruḍe mahāpurāṇe pūrvakhaṇḍe prathamāṃśākhye ācārakāṇḍe śrāddhānuṣṭhānaṃ nāmaviṃśādhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
