dhātāvidhātroste bhārye tayorjātau sutāvubhau /
prāṇaścaiva mṛkaṇḍuśca mārkaṇḍeyo mṛkaṇḍutaḥ //
they were the wives of Dhātṛ and Vidhātṛ. To those two were born two sons: / Prāṇa and Mṛkaṇḍu; from Mṛkaṇḍu came Mārkaṇḍeya.
