kumāraścaiva bhṛṅgīśaḥ kruddho rudraḥ pratāpavān /
vidhvaṃsya yajñaṃ dakṣaṃ tu taṃ śaśāpa pinākadhṛk /
dhruvasyānvayasambhūto manuṣyastvaṃ bhaviṣyasi //
as well as Kumāra and Bhṛṅgīśa. Rudra, powerful and enraged, / having destroyed the sacrifice, the wielder of the Pināka cursed Dakṣa: / 'Born in the lineage of Dhruva, you shall become a mortal man!'
