na ttulyaṃ hi ratnānāmathavā pāpanāśanam /
saṃskṛtaṃ śilpinā sadyo mūlyaṃ kiñcillabhettataḥ (dā) //
It does not equal [other] gems, yet it destroys sins; / when fashioned by an artisan, it immediately obtains a certain price.

iti śrīgāruḍe mahāpurāṇe pūrvakhaṇḍe prathamāṃśākhye ācārakāṇḍe sphaṭikaparīkṣaṇaṃ nāmaikonāśītitamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus ends the seventy-ninth chapter, entitled “Examination of Quartz,” in the section on conduct, the first division of the first section of the glorious and great Garuḍa Purāṇa.
