vihitākaraṇānartho na sadbhiḥ kriyate tu yaḥ /
saṃyamo muktaye yo 'nyaḥ pratyutādhogatipradaḥ //

The fault arising from not performing what is enjoined is not incurred by the virtuous;
restraint aimed at liberation which is otherwise, on the contrary, bestows a lower state.
