paśumaṇḍūkanakulaśvāhimārjārasūkaraiḥ /
kṛte 'ntare tvahorātraṃ śakrapāte tathocchraye //

when a beast, a frog, a mongoose, a dog, a serpent, a cat, or a boar / passes between [the teacher and pupil], there is a break for a day and night, and likewise at the fall or raising of Indra's banner;
