manujānāṃ hitā tārkṣya ante vaitaraṇī smṛtā /
tayāvamatya pāpaughaṃ viṣṇulokaṃ sa gacchati //
Beneficial to human beings, O Tārkṣya, the Vaitaraṇī [river] is remembered at the end; / having crossed the torrent of sins by means of it, one goes to the world of Viṣṇu.
