pṛthivyāṃ līyate pṛthvī āpaścaiva tathāpsu ca /
tejastejasi līyate samīraṇaḥ samīraṇe /
ākāśe ca tathā kāśaḥ sarvavyāpī ca śaṅkare //

The earth dissolves into earth, and water into water; / fire dissolves into fire, the wind into wind; / and space into space, and the all-pervading [soul] into Śaṅkara.
