nāsapiṇḍognimān putraḥ pitṛyajñaṃ samācaret /
samācārādbhavet pāpī pitṛhā cāpi jāyate //
A son who possesses a sacred fire must not perform the ancestral sacrifice without sapindification; / by such conduct he would become a sinner and even a killer of his father.
