adāhe na ca kartavyaṃ sadāhe kārayedbudhaḥ /
darbhaputtalakaṃ kṛtvā vahninā dāhayecchavam //
It must not be performed when there is no cremation; the wise man should cause it to be performed when cremation has taken place; / having made an effigy of darbha grass, he should burn the body with fire.
