2.34.22

jalāñjaliṃ tathā dātuṃ gacchanti dvijasattamāḥ /
yatra sthāne mṛto yastu adhvanyapi gṛhe 'pi vā /
viśleṣastu tataḥ sthānānna kvacidvihito budhaiḥ //

The best among the twice-born likewise go to offer a handful of water; / at whatever place a person has died, whether on the road or in a house, / no departure from that place is prescribed anywhere by the wise.
