piṇḍadānaṃ na yasyābhūdākāśe bhramate tu saḥ /
dinatrayaṃ vasaṃstoye agnāvapi dinatrayam /
ākāśe vasate trīṇi dinamekantu vāsake //
He for whom no rice-ball was offered wanders in the sky: / dwelling in water for three days, in fire for three days, / in the sky he dwells for three days, and for one day in the dwelling.
