navamyāñca mṛto yaśca riktā tasya caturdaśī /
etā riktāśca vijñeyā antyeṣṭau kuśalena ca //
And for one who dies on the ninth, the fourteenth is an empty [tithi] for him; / these empty [tithis] are to be known by one skilled in funeral rites.
