sarvalokahitārthāya śṛṇu pāpabhayāpahām /
ṣaṇmāsaṃ brāhmaṇe dāhastrimāsaṃ kṣattriye mataḥ //
For the benefit of all the worlds, hear about [the rite] that dispels the fear of sins: / cremation after six months is held proper for a brāhmaṇa, and after three months for a kṣatriya.
