varamekāpyapahṛtā na tu dattaṃ gavāṃ śatam /
ekāṃ hṛtvā śataṃ dattvā na tena samatā bhavet //
Better that even one [cow] is not seized than a hundred cows are given; / having taken one and given a hundred, equality is not attained thereby.
