iti śrīgāruḍe mahāpurāṇe uttarakhaṇḍe dvitīyāṃśākhye dharmakāṇḍe pretakalpe śrīkṛṣṇagaruḍasaṃvāde durmaraṇe kāryākāryakriyādinirūpaṇaṃ nāma catuścatvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ

Thus ends the forty-fourth chapter, entitled 'Determination of Rites to Be Performed and Not Performed in Unnatural Death', in the Pretakalpa of the Dharmakāṇḍa, belonging to the second part of the glorious Garuḍa Mahāpurāṇa, in the dialogue between Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Garuḍa.
