2.48.36

na dṛśyate ko 'pi mṛtaḥ samāgato rājā yatirvā dvijapuṅgavo 'pi vā /
yo vai mṛtaḥ sāhasikaḥ sa martyako nāśaṃ yo 'pi dharātale sthitaḥ //

No dead man is seen to return—neither king, nor ascetic, nor foremost twice-born. / That mortal who is dead was bold; he who was on the surface of the earth has gone to destruction.”
