varṣāśanaṃ vedavide ca dattaṃ kanyāvivāhastvṛṇamocanaṃ dvije /
bhūmiḥ sukṛṣṭāpi tṛṣārtihetostadevametaṃ sukṛtat samastam //
An annual grant of maintenance given to a knower of the Vedas, the marriage of a maiden, release from debt for a twice-born, / and land well ploughed to relieve the torment of thirst—all this is merit.
