na vedādhyayanānmuktirna śāstrapaṭhanādapi /
jñānādeva hi kaivalyaṃ nānyathā vinatātmajaḥ //
Not by the study of the Vedas is there liberation, nor by reading scriptures;
only through knowledge is there isolation, and not otherwise, O son of Vinatā.
