janmanyekodakānāntutrirātrācchuddhiriṣyate /
śāvasya śeṣācchudhyanti tryahādudakadāyinaḥ //
At birth, purification of समानोदक (samānodakas) is held to be after three nights; / after the remainder of a death-impurity, those who offer water are purified after three days.
