vaiśyaḥ pratodaṃ raśmīnvā śūdro yaṣṭiṃ kṛtakriyaḥ /
mṛtādalpavayobhiśca sapiṇḍaiḥ parivāpanam //
a vaiśya, his goad or reins; and a śūdra, his staff, once the rite is completed. / And tonsure is to be performed by the sapiṇḍas who are younger than the deceased.
