śṛkṛṣṇa uvāca /
apanodyantvidaṃ kālādibhirāśu niṣedhakṛt /
piṇḍādhyayanadānādeḥ puṅgato 'tiśayo hi tat //
The Blessed Kṛṣṇa said: / It is that which is to be removed by time and other means, which swiftly prohibits / piṇḍa offerings, Vedic study, gifts, and the like; it is indeed a special state attached to the person.
