śrīkṛṣṇa uvāca /
mayā te kathitaṃ pakṣin vṛṣayajñaḥ suvistaraḥ /
prāṇināṃ karmanirhāraṃ śrutvā pāpaiḥ pramucyate //
The Holy Kṛṣṇa said: / I have narrated to you in detail, O Bird, the sacrifice of the bull; / by hearing [this] eradication of living beings' past actions, one is freed from sins.

iti śrīgāruḍe mahāpurāṇe uttarakhaṇḍe dvidṛ dhadṛpretakalpe śrīkṛṣṇagaruḍasaṃvāde vṛṣotsargamāhātmyanirūpaṇaṃ nāma ṣaṣṭho 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus ends the sixth chapter, named 'Description of the Greatness of the Release of a Bull', in the Pretakalpa of the latter section of the glorious and great Garuḍa Purāṇa, in the dialogue between the Holy Kṛṣṇa and Garuḍa.
